This is the press release:-
East Hampshire Sports Awards will celebrate everyone being active!
The East Hampshire Sports Awards will continue to be a prestigious event thanks to sponsorship from two major companies.
Everyone Active, part of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd, and the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company are supporting next year’s sports awards which recognise local sportsmen and women at every level, as well as the coaches, officials and volunteers who help them succeed.
The event, organised by East Hampshire District Council, will take place on Thursday 15 February 2018 at Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook, hosted by ITV’s Fred Dinenage.
Everyone Active is the longest-established leisure contractor in the UK managing more than 150 leisure and cultural centres across the country; it aims to offer the best facilities to allow people to be healthy and active for at least 30 minutes a day, five times a week.
David Love, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “We are very proud to be involved in the East Hampshire District Sports Awards. We see first-hand the difference that being active makes to communities and it is great to recognise the dedication of those who make local sport a success.
“East Hampshire provides a wealth of sports and activity opportunities for its residents and has produced some fantastic sports stars as a result. By celebrating the efforts of athletes, coaches and volunteers, I hope we are helping to inspire the next generation of sportsmen and women to achieve great things.”
The Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company (WBRC) is a joint venture between Dorchester Regeneration and Taylor Wimpey UK. It brings together two companies with significant experience in listening to communities and delivering large scale regeneration schemes. WBRC is working with a number of partners to transform Whitehill & Bordon from a former Army barracks to one of the most desirable places to live in the region.
James Child, Project Lead, Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company, said: “We are very pleased to be sponsoring the East Hampshire Sports Awards 2018. Our sponsorship will help to recognise the local talented sportsmen, women and young people and will hopefully help them continue their development.
“We are particularly proud that our sponsorship will help young athletes as they will eventually become the role models for future generations”.
Cllr Julie Butler, Portfolio Holder for Customer Relations, said: “We are delighted to have the support from Everyone Active and WBRC for the sports awards ceremony.
“It is such a fantastic event that allows us to give the people who dedicate their lives to sport the recognition they deserve. Having these two major companies, both of which operate locally, will help the event continue to be the prestigious evening that is highly anticipated by sports people across the district every year.”
The deadline for nominations is fast approaching (Friday 5 January 2018). EHDC is encouraging people to nominate anyone who has excelled in their sporting environment in 2017.
