Spring Countryside

There is much to celebrate and enjoy this spring.  First of all, the weather is improving and dare I whisper that it feels a bit warmer?

The woods and hedgerows have sprung into life. Summer visitors are arriving and making their presence felt.  Chiffchaffs, swallows and warblers have been seen and heard and are busy building nests.  Primroses, violets and wood anemone are dotted in the woods and hedgerows blending their delicate colours with the fresh green of new grass.  The woodland floor is about to turn a vibrant shade of violet blue when the bluebells show their true colour in a breathtaking display that never fails to delight. But don’t just take my word for it - go and see for yourself how beautiful and full of life our countryside is this month.

If you need a bit of help to get started with walking in our countryside, then visit http://www3.hants.gov.uk/walking.htm  for a few ideas.  Or pop along to The Rising Sun in North Lane, Clanfield and ask about the Walking for Health groups that start from this very popular local pub every Sunday and Wednesday morning? http://www.clanfieldonline.com/64/222/the-rising-sun-inn

If you find that all this walking is giving you an appetite, then why not treat yourself and the family to a special meal our two superb Indian Restaurants – The Mela and The Mirchi.  They are both in the running for Curry House of the Year 2016 and they both deserve to do well.  Don’t forget to cast your vote! http://www.clanfieldonline.com/12/906/vote-for-a-clanfield-curry-house
