Christmas is Coming

Two weeks to go to Christmas and the excitement is building.
I have a checklist to keep me on track to ensure I don’t forget anything. Presents, cards, food and drink are all on the list and slowly being ticked off. I’ve ordered a turkey from Reeve Butchers and a Christmas tree from Clanfield Greengrocers – both are excellent quality and price.
There is so much to remember and do at this time of year and the days and hours seem to just slip away. By the time Christmas Day has arrived you can be too tired to enjoy it, so why not give yourself a treat this weekend and start singing?
Singing is good for you.
Medical research shows that singing will improve your circulation and is good for the heart. Group singing develops concentration, reduces stress and it is great fun!
So come along and join the Carol Services this weekend and bring your family and friends to start the Christmas Season with a song. We are so lucky in this village to have community events organised by our local churches and pubs. Friday 11 December there will be Carols at the Pond from 7.00pm. The Salvation Army Band will visit The Farmer Inn to lead carols on Saturday 12 December from 6.00pm.
On Sunday 13 December, at 5.30, Drift Road Evangelical Church has their annual Carol Service followed by delicious refreshments. Then the weekend ends with a major get-together at The Rising Sun to raise the roof with song at the pub from 6.00pm.
You will find a warm welcome, make new friends and enjoy the delicious food on offer. It can't get any better than that. So start tuning up those vocal cords and get into the spirit of Christmas.
See our Events Section for more information.
