Convincing win at final indoor games of winter season

Clanfield CC  won their final indoor game of the season with a convincing 41 run victory over XIIth Men 'B' on Sunday.

Batting first, Clanfield got off to a good start scoring 28 from the first 3 overs, mostly from Haider Khan(23). After the opening batmen were out, Clanfield suffered a mini collapse and looked in trouble but Matt Bradley (32 not out)  and Chris Tait (11 not out) batted steadily to see the team up to 109 for 4 from their 12 overs.

When their turn came, all the Clanfield bowlers were tidy and restricted the XIIth Men batsmen from scoring freely. Matt took 2 for 15 from his 3 overs with Mark Turnbull (1 for 9) and Chris Tait (1 for 17) also taking wickets. A pair of runouts saw the XIIth Men restricted to 68 all out from 10.5 overs.

A nice victory to end the season which saw Clanfield finish a respectable mid table 6th with 4 victories from 9 games. This was good given that the team were unexpectedly promoted last year, and were competitive in most games.

Alex Andrews was named indoor player of the year, with Haider Khan leading run scorer and Mark Turnbull leading wicket taker.

Focus now turns to the outdoor season which starts at East Meon on Sunday 9 April.
