July Garden by Julia’s Garden Care

With the weather starting to really hot up this month it’s important to keep on top of the watering, however don’t be tempted to just give a light sprinkle over your plants as this can leave them more vulnerable to dry conditions.  It’s much better to water less often but more thoroughly, giving everything a real soaking to encourage the plants to send out deeper roots.

In the veg patch, you can continue to sow quick cropping salad for a regular supply throughout the summer and first early potatoes should be lifted by the end of the month.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for pests such as lily beetle and vine weevil, picking them off and disposing of them as you see fit.

Most importantly, reap the rewards of your hard work and sit and enjoy your garden!

These are just a few ideas to get you started this month but if you want further assistance then Julia’s Garden Care will be able to offer make your garden bloom this summer.
