Lighting up Clanfield

Christmas trees have been bringing a bit of festive sparkle to the Drift Road and Green Lane shops this month.  Clanfield Online, which is funded by local businesses, paid for the wooden planters filled with flowers during the summer, before planting Christmas trees adorned with lights.

From reaction on social media, via email and through ‘post-it’ notes in the shops, local people have given a big ‘thumbs-up’ to the Christmas trees: thanks to all that have posted a comment or like.  We could only afford a small number of planters and trees this year, but we hope to do better next year.

Thanks go to our own volunteers who pitched in to ensure the trees were in place to shine a bit of light on our local shops and businesses and bring that Christmassy feeling to our village. In the New Year, the trees will be removed and replaced by seasonal plants, providing colour to the shopping area.  If you are a local business that hasn’t joined Clanfield Online yet, then why not get in touch?  We work with the local community to improve our village and make it a better place to live and work.

Like our trees?

We need your feedback to plan for next Christmas. What do you want to see in Clanfield next December? Please post your comments, suggestions and ideas on social media or via our Contact page; why not pop into one of the shops and write your own ‘post-it’ note – you will find a comments board in every shop that has a Christmas Tree outside.

Clanfield Online thanks Ellie Major for her photographs of the Clanfield Christmas trees at night.

Clanfield Online wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
