The Clanfield Practice – GP Shortage
We continue to be one GP down and although we have obtained as much Locum GP cover as we have been able to we are also currently experiencing a very high volume of requests for appointments. We will endeavour to provide the best service possible in these circumstances and would ask patients to help us by considering whether they could obtain help elsewhere.
We receive a large number of requests from patients suffering from coughs/colds/minor ailments which could be managed by a Pharmacist or using the self-help guides available on our website:
St Mary’s treatment Centre is open every day and can provide a fast convenient service for a range of minor illnesses and injuries. Please see their website for opening times and details of what they can help with: http://www.stmarystreatmentcentre.nhs.uk/miiu/
The NHS 111 service is available 24 hours a day and has access to GP appointments even when your normal surgery is closed. Please see NHS Choices website for further details: https://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/AboutNHSservices/Emergencyandurgentcareservices/Pages/NHS-111.aspx
The emergency department at QA Hospital is for patients requiring emergency care for serious and life-threatening conditions. Please use the service carefully so it can best support those who need it most.
We continue to seek a replacement GP for Dr Gill and will use alternative resources including Locum GP’s and Nurse Practitioners where available.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate all your support.
Drs Crispin, Carrigan, Owen and Heaton.
