Clanfield Parish Council has now started to take ownership of the Windmill View community facilities from the developers, Barratt David Wilson (BDW) and Bovis.

The transfer of the top field, with the allotments, the bottom field, the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) and the LEAP (Locally Equipped Area for Play) to the Parish Council has been completed today (16th May, 2018).

The Heras fencing around the MUGA and LEAP area was taken down last Friday and those areas are now open for public use.

The Parish Council has already met with its contractors to schedule the pre-occupation works for the allotments as soon as possible and an allotment meeting is being called to update those people who have been allocated a plot. The Parish Council’s contractors will also be undertaking the bund work to protect the top and bottom fields from unauthorised access as soon as that can be arranged.

It is currently expected that the transfer of ownership of the community and sports centre and the tennis courts will follow in about 2 weeks’ time when further information about those facilities and what they will offer for the community will be announced.

Terry Collins, Chairman of Clanfield Parish Council said:

“This is a huge step forward for Clanfield Parish Council in bringing all the facilities at Windmill View under Parish ownership. Clanfield Parish Councillors have worked tirelessly for many, many months on what has been a very complex and lengthy process. The Parish Council would like to thank the villagers of Clanfield for their patience and support during this period.”
