Royal Marine funeral update

We have received a message from Owen Jarrett who runs The Rising Sun Inn in Clanfield.

The family of Roy Docwra have contacted me today. They thank everyone for their good wishes but have decided to hold a strictly private funeral service with no military involvement. However, you would be welcome to Roy's wake at 4.30pm at The Rising Sun on Tuesday 21 August.

Did you know this Royal Marine?

Clanfield Online has been contacted to share a message from Owen Jarrett of The Rising Sun, North Lane, Clanfield.  He is seeking information about a former Royal Marine and customer of the pub who has passed away.  If you can help, please contact Owen or this website.

Good day to you all

I hope you or one of your followers can assist me. I run the village pub, The Rising Sun, here in Clanfield and one of our loyal locals has sadly passed away.

His funeral is on the 21st August at Havant Crematorium, with a wake afterwards at the pub. His name is Roy Docwra and he is an ex Royal Marine; with no immediate family to refer to, I am attempting to find out a little more about him so that we can honour him in a befitting way for someone who has served his country and the Corps.

I would be most grateful therefore if you could share this request and offer my email address in case anyone would want to contact me directly: Lt Cdr Owen Jarrett MBE RN - my email address is as follows:

Thank You

Owen Jarrett
