If you’re looking for a unique gift this Christmas, the shop at Butser Ancient Farm has you covered. From pocket money stocking fillers to prehistoric inspired jewellery, hand carved spoons and locally produced fudge, honey and - not forgetting – locally produced mead to keep you warm on a cold winter’s day!

Trying to find the gift for the person who has everything? We’re pretty sure they won’t have some of these unique items!  Even better all profits from the Butser shop go back into supporting the educational and research work of the farm.

 Here’s our selection of gifts to suit all budgets:  

 Gifts under £2

The farm has a huge range of stocking filler gifts from Roman torc bracelets (£2.00), Obsidian arrowheads (£1.50), magnets and keyrings (both £2.00) 

Gifts under £5

For just £5 you could buy local Hampshire honey (£5), Roman Lavender and Honey soap (£2.50), Local Christmas Fudge (£2.50) posters and colouring sheets (From £2.50) or even a working Roman Trebuchet pencil sharpener! (£3.00) 

Gifts under £10

For £10 why not treat a loved one to a beautiful carved wooden spoon, choose an inspiring children’s book about our ancient past (from £3.50), buy some hand dyed wool or purchase a Butser mug for just £6.50.  

Gifts under £20

For just £14 a bottle of locally produced Mead from Chalice Mead is always a winning gift. Made from honey and spring water, the mead on sale at Butser comes in a wide range of flavours from traditional, nettle, hawthorn and blackberry to chocolate and chilli!

A range of books on traditional crafts including dyeing fabrics and embroidery, flint knapping and woodworking are also available to inspire a new project in the New Year.   

Gifts under £50

For that special treat for under £50 why not buy a workshop voucher redeemable at any Butser workshop in 2019. From Bronze Casting and foraging to felting and ancient skills there is sure to be a new skill your loved one would love to learn.  


The Butser Farm shop is currently open on weekdays between 10am and 4pm and entry to the shop is free of charge.
