Love your local shops

Last week Clanfield Online published the sad news that the Salon in Green Lane is due to close this November.  This business, managed so well by Sophie Brenton and her team, have been at the heart of our community for over 30 years and its demise will mourned by many when the doors close for the last time.

“I’m just popping down to the shops – anything you want while I’m there?” These words must be echoed throughout homes across the country every day.  The difference with local businesses is that they get to know their customers really well: advising them on the best products for their needs and their wallets, watching over children as they spend their first pocket money and offering a special service to customers, whose age and frailty require a little more time and individual care.  Local shops and businesses are the glue that strengthens and hold a community together.

Clanfield Online was founded to promote and celebrate local business and community groups so we are very sad to see one of our founder members closing their doors.  The good news is that Sophie won’t be leaving the website as she has offered to become one of our volunteers helping with the work of this website.

Are you a local business that would like to join Clanfield Online?  We are managed and run by volunteers who love this village.  It costs just £96.00 per year to join and you will become part of a welcoming group who support our community and support your business.
