Clanfield Cubs tackle litter in village

 Clanfield Cubs spread out across the village on Thursday 22nd September to remove the litter on our streets.  Split into 4 groups, the 8 – 10-year olds, were guided by volunteer leaders.  

The Clanfield cubs, using borrowed equipment borrowed collected discarded litter from:

• Clanfield Co-op
• Green Lane,
• St James Close
• Walburton Way up to Harting Close
• Drift Road
• New Road
• Redwing Road
• Valley Park Drive
• White Dirt Lane
• Francis Road
• Viking Way
• First Avenue
• Draycott Road

The rubbish they collected was not as much as expected but was still a lot more than hoped. It was a real eye opener for the cubs who were surprised at the type of litter found, especially the amount of cigarette ends.
