Hedgehog Awareness Week

Details here:-

For local help and advice on hedgehogs contact Tim B at

Useful information about hedgehogs from Tim:

  • The breeding season is April to June and most births occur in June or July although births can occur until autumn
  • Hedgehogs will create their own nests in domed piles of leaves, under sheds, in gro-bags etc.
  • Hedgehogs are wild animals and not pets. It is illegal to kill or capture a wild hedgehog
  • Mothers may be seen during the day, for 10-15 minutes, moving purposefully to collect leaves and moss for bedding
  • However other hedgehogs out during the day are usually unwell and will probably need rescuing: contact British Hedgehog Preservation Society on 01584 890801.

Make your garden a place that hedgehogs can call home.
