Clanfield Online is delighted to publish an article written by Tara, an immensely proud daughter of an amazing local Mum. Clanfield resident, Wendy Jones, was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honour’s List.
I am very pleased and proud to write to you about my mum, Wendy Jones. She was presented with an MBE by the Queen on Friday 22nd March at Windsor Castle.
Wendy founded the Drugs in Breastmilk Helpline 21 years ago Breastfeeding Network which offers parents and healthcare professionals advice on what medication is safe for breastfeeding mothers. It is an amazing charity and has led to Wendy publishing three books, with a 4th title to be published this summer.
She has helped countless mums and her Facebook page is filled with congratulations on this amazing award. The icing on the cake was when we found out it was the Queen who would be hosting the investiture on Friday 22nd March.
Wendy has lived in Clanfield for 35 years and has been a big member of the community: she served as a school governor at Petersgate and Clanfield Junior Schools as well as previously managing the pharmacy for a number of years.
I hope that it may inspire other Clanfield residents to see what they can achieve if they follow their dreams and passion.
