Winning run for Cricket Club

A brief report below from our last 2 indoor matches on 27/10 & 3/11.

The Clanfield Cricket Club indoor team managed 2 wins in as many weeks to maintain their unbeaten record.

The second game of the season saw us play XIIth Men B; Mike Collins was back in charge after missing the first game and he won the toss and decided to field first.  XIIth Men B scored 100/4 in their 12 overs; Andy Wellen taking 2 wickets with Adam Smith and Matt Bradley taking 1 each.

In reply Clanfield reached the target with 8 balls remaining; Matt Bradley and Andy Wakely both retiring on reaching 25 and Dan Wheeler batted through for 19* to secure a 6 wicket win.

The 2nd game in as many weeks saw us take on Curdridge this past Sunday in game 3 of the season. Skipper Mike Collins lost the toss and Clanfield were invited to bat first. Clanfield scored 136/3 in their 12 overs with Dan Wheeler retiring on reaching 25 and Matt Bradley retiring but then returning at the end of the innings to finish 48*.

In reply, Curdridge scored 94/1 from their 12 overs; Matt Bradley taking the only wicket of the innings in the last over but a good all round bowling and fielding performance from all secured a 42 run win for Clanfield.

We currently sit 2nd in the league table with 3 wins from 3 games. Our next game is in a couple of weeks on Sunday 24th November against Railway Triangle.
