Cricket Club 2nd in League despite defeat
Clanfield Cricket Club suffered their first defeat of the indoor season last Sunday in Game 4 vs Railway Triangle.
Captain Mike Collins won the toss and elected to field first: Railway Triangle scored 116 all out in 11.5 overs with Andy Wellen taking 1/26, Adam Smith taking 1/38 and 4 run outs all by Matt Bradley. This teamwork ensured Clanfield took all 6 opposition wickets in an innings for the first time this season.
In reply Clanfield struggled with the bat and lost 4 early wickets for a handful of runs, and despite a rear-guard action from Mike Collins & Andy Wellen, Clanfield could only manage 57 all out in 11.5 overs and thus losing by 59 runs.
Despite the defeat, Clanfield remain 2nd in the league table with the next game in two weeks’ time against the league leaders Hambledon B.
Clanfield Cricket Club are not downhearted and looking forward to future games. Are you interested in joining the club? Prospective new players should contact Club Captain Matt Bradley on 02392 591621.
