Cricket victory closes gap on top spot

Clanfield finished the first half of the indoor cricket season with a victory in game 5 vs, top of the table, Hambledon B team.

Clanfield Captain Mike Collins lost the toss and Hambledon decided to bat first.

Hambledon B scored 123/3 in their 12 overs, Matt Bradley taking a wicket with the other 2 wickets coming via run outs. In reply Clanfield reached the target required with 3 balls remaining, 3 wickets down. Clanfield's new opening pair of Matt Bradley and Mike Collins both retired on passing 25 and Jonny Mash scored 25 not out, at the end of the innings to secure victory.

A fantastic close victory to bounce back from a heavy defeat in the previous game.  Despite the victory Clanfield remain 2nd in the league table but have closed the gap on the top spot to just 3 points.

Clanfield are now finished in the indoor league until the New Year, with the next game being on January 5th vs Emsworth B, where hopefully they can continue their good form from before the Christmas break.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Clanfield Cricket Club!
