Your council is here to help you

During the current situation we're working hard to provide essential services for the people of East Hampshire.

We want to make sure you know where to get the latest reliable information.  This is a difficult time for the country, but we're here to help you.

RM and CX

Message from our Leader and Chief Executive

East Hampshire's Leader, Councillor Richard Millard and Chief Executive Gill Kneller want to let you know that they are doing everything possible to provide essential services.

They are working alongside voluntary organisations to make sure that support, services and supplies reach everyone that needs them.

If you are worried about how you'll cope during this crisis, or have a neighbour or relative who is vulnerable please ring 0333 370 4000.

A leaflet will soon be delivered to every household in the district with more information for residents who are not able to access to the internet.

Help us to help others

We are looking for volunteers to sign up and help people in the community.  If you can help, contact our partners Community First at

Support for businesses

We want businesses to survive and for our local economy to be well placed for recovery when we emerge from this crisis, so we will provide as much support as possible during this period of unprecedented disruption.

We have been given responsibility for administering some of the government's schemes including business rates holidays and grants for retail, hospitality, leisure and small businesses.

Other support will be through HMRC, the Bank of England and the British Business Bank.

Our services

Our offices are closed to the public in line with government advice to minimise social contact.

You can still contact us by visiting our website.  For residents who do not have access to the internet, they can call us on 01730 266551.

Our staff are continuing to provide our services, as best they can, during these unprecedented circumstances. Please visit our website for up-to-date information

Your bins and other things

If your bin is not collected please leave it out, where it will not cause an obstruction, and our teams will collect as soon as they can.  But this may not be until your next scheduled collection day.

We will collect excess rubbish and recycling for those bins that are missed.

If you, or anyone in your household is suffering from symptoms of coronavirus please follow Public Health England guidelines regarding the disposal of waste.

We hope you'll understand that we have had to temporarily suspended our bulky waste collections until further notice.
