Clear up after your dog
East Hampshire District Council is calling on dog walkers to properly dispose of their pet’s waste after reports that more and more is being left along popular walking routes.
Dog owners are being encouraged to bag up their pet’s poo and throw it in a street bin or dispose of it at home.
The council says more people are leaving bagged dog mess on their walk, but not taking it with them.
Cllr Ingrid Thomas, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Quality, said: “Walking your dog is a great way of getting outside and enjoying your daily exercise – but don’t forget that you must clear up after your dog just as you would at any other time.
“Please make sure you bag up your dog’s mess and then dispose of it either in a council bin or take it home with you.
“All council bins are dual purpose, so you can use them for dog bags as well as litter, and we will empty them as normal.”
