Clanfield Challenge 2020 – ready to run?

Looking back at previous January blogs, there has been one consistent message repeated by Clanfield Online - we have encouraged villagers to sign up for the Clanfield Challenge. It’s a winning formula, so why change it?  Sign up today for the Clanfield Challenge 2020 which takes place on Sunday 17 May.

It’s cold and grey outside, January weather at its most miserable , with only a few early flowers brave enough to show their faces. Now think ahead to Sunday 17 May and, if the Challenge’s luck holds, it will be another warm and sunny day again this year, as in past years.  This is the Clanfield Challenge’s fifth anniversary and, as previous years have sold our early, you will want to book your place now.

The Clanfield Challenge is a run, jog or walk for all ages and abilities from the super-fit to those of us who just try our best and keep plodding on.  It is open to all ages, from tiny tots racing around a 1K track to the junior athletes who will tackle the 2K trail: both taking place within South Lane Meadow in Clanfield.  The 5k and 12K trails are for those who are looking forward to testing themselves with a longer trail in the South Downs National Park: whilst the 20K trail is for the most experienced runner; this route will take them to the top of Butser Hill, the highest point of the South Downs.

Refreshments, music, local businesses and community organisations will be in South Lane Meadow to ensure that everyone has a good time.  Money generated by the races will be used to fund local community projects in and around the Clanfield area.
