Salute to our local shops 

In these grim times our local shopkeepers are working hard to keep the shelves full and offer the best service to all customers. 

Nigel Hadwen Clanfield Greengrocer has written an eloquent Facebook message at the end of an exhausting day serving his customers.

Nigel’s message is echoed by Reeve Butchers, Budgens Store and Clanfield Co-op and every other food shop in the country.  They are all working flat out to meet the demand from customers in these extraordinary times.  Let’s treat them with respect and kindness.

What can you do to help the local shops and our community?  

• Thank local shop staff who are tired but continue to work hard for our benefit.
• Offer help to vulnerable neighbours and those who cannot get to the shops – that might be you one day.
• When this horrible virus is finally defeated, please continue to use the local shops – if they have helped you now, then you help them to survive in the future.

Let’s all work together to take care of our community.
