2020 Resolution – love your village

Local shops on the front line
Every cloud has a silver lining and the positive response of our village, along with every community across the nation, is a shining example to us all. Neighbours are helping each other and local organisations – churches, sports clubs and community groups are volunteering to deliver essentials and provide vital support for those staying at home.
Our local businesses are at the forefront of keeping our community going, ensuring villagers can buy what they need within this village without making unnecessary journeys.
Local businesses like Clanfield Greengrocers, Budgens, Reeve Butchers, Charlie’s Trade Centre and Clanfield Co-op are working, planning and ordering, 7 days a week, to ensure we can buy what we need. They’re working flat out to keep up with local needs and will continue to do so during this emergency and beyond.
Please help them now, and in the future, by buying locally. These locally based shop owners and their staff are on the front line in this emergency, alongside all the other essential workers. Every day, they risk catching the virus from their customers, but they keep going so we can buy food and other essentials.
We should all be ready to play our part and our local shops and businesses are leading from the front.
