Clanfield Christmas trees – send us your feedback

The village Christmas trees are up and decorated. Clanfield Online volunteers spent two days last week planting, installing the lights and decorating the trees with baubles.

Clanfield Online business members fund the trees, decorations and installation alongside donations from our local EHDC Councillors – thanks Ken and Arthur! We have put 9 trees into the village – 7 in the Drift Road area, 1 at the Memorial Hall and 1 at the Clanfield Bowls Club. Our Christmas ‘elves’ Steve and Russell, have worked together before, but this year they were joined by Marcos Morley, a local driving instructor, who just turned up and offered to help. We never turn away a volunteer - thanks Marcos!

As children streamed out of Petersgate last Friday there were happy faces, with the exception of one little boy. He asked, anxiously, “Mummy, where are the stars?” We had the stars ready but hadn’t finished placing the baubles. The team immediately sprang into action and stars were placed on the trees. All’s well that ends well.

What do you think of the village Christmas trees? Are we getting it right? We would really appreciate your feedback.
