Clanfield Board-gamers Association introduction to board games

Another opportunity to join CBA’s introduction to modern board games at St James Christmas Fair in the Memorial Hall on Saturday 27th November from 10 am. Switch off the smart gear and come and enjoy some good old fashioned family fun time while looking for your Christmas ideas

For most people, board games still mean Monopoly, Cluedo, Battleships or other ‘children's’ games or perhaps party games like Taboo, Pictionary or Trivial Pursuit. Maybe even Chess or Scrabble which can become a little intimidating and not so fun when faced with other players who take the game very seriously.
You won’t find any of those games here. We want to show you just a small selection of the plethora of great games where you can get together with each other or with the kids and enjoy both the game and each other's company. We want to show you that these games are simple yet are packed full of creativity and ingenuity that reward you for thinking rather than a just a lucky roll of the dice or because you just so happen to know a weird bit of trivia.
Many of the friends I have shown these games to have had that intimidated look in their eye when I first unpacked a game but by the end of the game they are flying along and could easily go off and play them by themselves straight away. There is no better way to learn something new than in a fun and friendly atmosphere (believe me I've even been able to teach my mother who would not claim to be a board game player).
So come along and join us for a great introduction to Board Games.

Come and join us at the Memorial Hall on Saturday 27th November from 10 am and see if you can be tempted to switch off the smart gear and re-engage with face to face fun and laughter. Looking for a good Christmas present idea? Paul has a selection of games suitable for family and adult players that he and his small team would like to introduce to you.

Safeguarding: Young people, under the age of 16, must be accompanied by an adult.
