Windmill dispute - path obstructions removed

The dispute over the footpath that runs beside the Windmill, at the top of the hill above  Clanfield and Chalton, has been resolved - according to a notification posted today, Wednesday 10th March by the Countryside Access Team, Hampshire Countryside Service. Local residents and walkers will be relieved to read the following statement from Hampshire County Council.

Problem Type: Nuisance

Problem Sub Type: Nuisance/Intimidation

This report has been resolved to our satisfaction and has now been closed. The obstructions have been removed today from the legal width of the Right of Way. 

We legally have to serve legal notice and if this is not adhered to within the time period of the notice we are granted the legal power to remove the obstructions. 

As such we have today used these granted powers to remove the obstructions from the legal width of the Right of Way.
