Village flowerbed ‘signed up’ by Clanfield Gardening Club

Clanfield Gardening Club members were out early on Saturday morning to fix a new sign to the community flowerbed in Drift Road. The sign, designed by HUB 87 celebrates the work of Clanfield Gardening Club, who plant and maintain the village flowerbed and wooden planters throughout the year. Clanfield Online, supported by local businesses, fund this work along with many other community projects.

The flowerbed is located on land owned by the Southern Co-operative, which was donated for community use through the Co-op ‘Love Your Neighbourhood’ scheme in 2015. The store manager, alongside local volunteers, helped to build the flowerbed which provides a splash of colour to the shopping area.

Clanfield Gardening Club members are discussing planting plans for the coming season, as some plants were badly affected by the winter weather and may have to be replaced. If you want to know more top-tips from your local gardening club then follow them on Facebook
