Clanfield Club bowls with safety and fun in mind

Great News! The village Bowls Club is open again and despite the chilly weather so far, the members are streaming back to enjoy some fresh air and social interaction which has been sorely missed by all. The small management team have been working extremely hard to ensure that the Club is fully Covid-19 compliant with distancing between playing lanes, ample sanitisation equipment, pre-booking systems, on-duty safety Steward, and everything that is needed to make the players feel as safe as possible.

Furthermore, thanks to some generous grant funding, there are important improvements that will provide for comfortable outdoor catering and relaxation whilst taking in the special views over the South Downs. These include new outdoor wooden tables and chairs to match the perimeter benches and an electric retractable awning to provide shelter from showers or hopefully bright sunshine!

Most importantly though everyone is having fun again and that makes the long wait very worthwhile. Also, in due course when HMG guidelines permit, the Club will be re-instating the programme of indoor entertainment events including the licensed bar and regular quiz nights, live music acts, visiting speakers, etc.

If you are new to bowls or an experienced Bowler and you feel you would like to visit and check out this beautiful facility, all you need to do is contact the undersigned who will be delighted to host your visit.
