Clanfield Parish Council is proud to announce that it will be finalising its first tree planting project during the National Tree Planting Week (27/11 – 5/12).

The Community Working Group volunteers have been busy preparing the ground, at the top of Whiteland Way, for the arrival and planting of over 150 trees on Saturday 27 November. Cllr Laurent Coffre said “I want to thank our volunteers and members of the Council for the hard work done this year to bring this initiative to fruition. The Council has a clear agenda to protect our environment and biodiversity: I hope this will be the first of many such projects where we can involve the community in making our village a great place to live.”

If you wish to help plant the trees that will be known as Whiteland Copse, please come along on Saturday 27 November, at 10.00am, and bring a garden trowel. In preparation, planting holes have been dug by a local farmer using a special auger to drill into the soil so much of the hard work has been done already.

Whiteland Copse will be created using native trees, sourced from the Woodland Trust, on council owned land. This will be a great start for our village to be part of National Tree Planting Week where people across the country come together to celebrate and plant trees.

Clanfield Parish Council is hoping that many local residents will ‘join the team’ to help to plant a tree to kick off National Tree Planting Week. Register your interest:
