Celebrating 5 years of Clanfield Christmas trees 

Clanfield Online is celebrating 5 years of village Christmas trees. The community website started this project in December 2017 and, riding on a wave of public support, it is a now a fixture in our calendar. We are delighted to light up the area and make a visit to our village centre such a joyful occasion. 

Last weekend Clanfield Online volunteers planted 10 Christmas trees around the village; seven trees in the Drift Road and Green Lane shopping area, and one each for the Memorial Hall, Clanfield Bowls Club and Clanfield Centre. 

How do we manage to do this? We pay for the trees, lights and decorations through funding provided by local businesses. A generous grant from Cllrs Agate and Moon help with the costs of installing the trees – thank you Arthur and Ken! And local volunteers and business owners come out, in all weathers, to erect and decorate the trees – a team effort!
