Landscape Replacement Works Windmill View

Published: 28th October 2019
Categories: News, Clanfield, Hampshire

Contractors will proceed with landscape replacement and associated works on the Windmill View estate and from 18th November

We are writing to advise you that we have instructed contractors to proceed with the following landscape replacement and associated works on the Windmill View estate and, whilst weather dependent, these works are scheduled to be undertaken from 18th November:

  • Replacement of four beech trees which have not survived close to the entrance to the allotments in Whiteland Way.
  • Replacement of two lime trees which have been vandalised in the bottom field area - one fronting Harehurst Walk, the other adjacent to the path behind the Sports and Community Centre.
  • Replacement of the beech hedge plants around the bottom field - prior to this the planting strip will be weeded and the ground will be prepared.

We hope that there will be little or no disturbance to residents during the course of these works but, if residents should have any concerns, they can contact the Parish Council by using the “Contact Us” page on the website - www.clanfieldpc.org.uk

The Parish Council’s website now includes a page of plans showing the Parish Council’s land and property ownerships - excluding, for the moment, Down Farm Barn and Down Farm Park (St James Place) which will be added next year when the land transfers to the Parish Council at St James Place are completed. To see the plans, click on the “Parish Council” tag and scroll down to “Land and Property Ownerships” and, for Windmill View, the plans are entitled “Endal Way / Storrington Road” and “Whiteland Way”.

We hope that the spate of vandalism to the landscaping in the area is now a thing of the past but, should it unfortunately recur, we would urge residents to report it to the Police on 101.

Landscaping Works at St James Place

Published: 31st October 2019

Work has now commenced to complete the approved landscaping at St James Place prior to handover of the land areas that remain to be transferred to Clanfield Parish Council.

Work has now commenced to complete the approved landscaping at St James Place prior to handover of the land areas that remain to be transferred to Clanfield Parish Council.

This will involve the interim closure of some of the open space areas to the public to enable the work to be carried out and, possibly later but to a lesser extent, to protect new planting until it is established. Whilst the work is weather dependent, it is currently scheduled to be completed in January 2020.

In order that residents are kept fully informed on the progress of the work, BDW Trading Limited will be providing a notice board as soon as possible in the Parish Council’s car park adjacent to the Bowls Club. The notice board will be used by both BDW and the Parish Council whilst the landscape works are in hand, following which it will remain in place for Parish Council notices and information.

The landscaping being installed will be in accordance with the approved landscaping layouts, along with the play equipment. With regards the football pitches, there will be further works required to be carried out to ensure the pitches are fit for purpose and ready for use in the Autumn of 2020.
