Volunteers clear overgrown village path

A popular public bridleway in Clanfield, used by walkers and riders, has been cleared by a team of local volunteers - ‘Hampshire Monday Group’ - working for the Hampshire Countryside Service.

The path had become very overgrown, with few spaces to pass safely. The experienced team of volunteer countryside rangers used power and hand tools to clear almost the whole length of the path: they ran out of time to complete the final 100 metres but hope to return to finish the job as soon as possible.

The team, who usually work every Monday in the East Hants area, were grateful for the appreciation they received from passers-by, as they worked to make the countryside more accessible. The path, which joins Hinton Manor Lane, is located below Clanfield Observatory and is part of the popular Clanfield Walks: https://www.clanfieldonline.com/114/2290/clanfield-walks-1-observatory-walk

If you find a public path that requires attention please report it to HCC Rights of Way: https://www.hants.gov.uk/landplanningandenvironment/rightsofway/reportaproblem
