COVID booster vaccines

The Covid booster vaccination programme is well underway with clinics being held at Petersfield Festival Hall as well as at mass vaccination sites. Patients will be invited to book their booster appointment 6 months after their second dose. Please do not contact the Practice to chase your appointment unless it is at least 6 months and 1 week since you had your second dose. We are currently inviting patients who had their second vaccine at the end of April.

COVID vaccines for 16-17 year olds

As per current guidance, 16-17 year olds are not being offered a second dose. If you are 17 years and 9 months then you will be offered a second dose.

COVID vaccines for 12-15 year olds with no additional risk factors

All children in England aged 12 to 15 are being offered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination. Like all school-based vaccination programmes, the vaccines will be administered by the School Immunisation Service Provider working closely with the school. Invitations will be sent out in sufficient time to consider the vaccine and provide consent. Please note these invitations are sent out by the NHS centrally, not by your GP Surgery. Anyone who misses their vaccination will still be able to get theirs in a follow-up programme run through the Schools service provider.

Children at high risk of COVID-19 including those who live with someone who is immunocompromised

Some children agreed 12 to 17 will be offered a second dose. This is usually because they have a condition that means they are at high risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 or they live with someone who is immunocompromised.
