The Solent Celebrant

Core products/services: As a professional family celebrant, I create and conduct bespoke ceremonies for life’s momentous occasions of love, life, or loss – weddings, baby namings, funerals and renewal of vows.

Business Summary

The Solent Celebrant

Whatever the family occasion, the most important element is to get to know, like and trust your celebrant so you can be assured they are the person you want to create and conduct your unique ceremony for you.

Funeral Service – a celebration of life.  When a loved one dies your funeral director will ask if you want a minister of the faith or a celebrant to conduct the service.  The choice is yours, the fee is included in the funeral costs.

As your celebrant I focus on who the deceased was, the difference they made, their achievements, family, life story and personality.  The content of the ceremony will be exactly as you wish and includes music, readings, a eulogy with lots of memories.  Family members are encouraged to take part but only if they wish to.

Wedding Ceremonies – A celebrant cannot legally marry you, only a Registrar appointed by the local council or a minister of the faith can do that.  What a celebrant can do is create the perfect day for you with vows, ring exchange, rituals and all the celebration of a beautiful wedding, at the venue of your choice, beach, barn, back garden, forest, golf club  or restaurant.  Couples who opt for a celebrant led wedding will have visited their local Registrar’s Office beforehand to legalise their union.

Renewal of Vows – Usually at key anniversary dates or after a specific event, this is the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends how special you and your partner are to each other. Couples can write their own vows or repeat their wedding vows.

Baby Naming – Celebrate the arrival of your new baby – with all the ceremony of a christening without the religious content, but still as heartfelt and important with guideparents, and rituals to mark the day.
