Portchester Bowl past Clanfield in village friendly

Clanfield Bowls & Sports Club held its first Friendly Match of the year, last week, against Portchester. It was a great day enjoyed by all and in the end there were even some spells of warm sunshine. Portchester proved to be skilful opponents, as expected, whilst maintaining the friendly ambience that Clanfield Bowls club is known for. For a while, leading up to the refreshment break, 4 out of the 5 home CBSC teams were leading their games . After the break the position reversed but it was still close with the final points score being: Portchester - 82, CBSC - 70. Well done all!

Michael Trippick, the Club's Founder and Honorary Member who is now responsible for recruitment and coaching, and who organised the game, presented the Portchester captain with Chalky, our new Club Mascot. The Portchester captain later commented that "the Clanfield club facilities are excellent and the hospitality was second to none".

Clanfield Bowls club is fortunate to be located in such a beautiful spot, with stunning views of the South Downs, providing a glorious backdrop to matches and events at this friendly local club. Fancy trying a new sport and making new friends this year?  Visit our website or contact Geeti Granger for more information: mailto:-
