Arrangements are gathering pace to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

The arrangements are now gathering pace for Clanfield’s Community Festival to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It will be held on the Endal Way Field and in The Clanfield Centre on Sunday 5th June between 12 Noon and 6.00 pm.

The event is being jointly organised by Clanfield Parish Council and Community First alongside many of the community and sports clubs and organisations in the village. There will be entertainment, displays, competitions, sports and games, refreshments and picnic areas. A leaflet is being prepared to circulation to all households in the village in the coming weeks.

Speaking after the first meeting of the organisers, John Bannell, Chairman of Clanfield Parish Council, said:

“It is great to have had such an enthusiastic response and so many good ideas from all who were present at the meeting. The Festival is going to be a really good day. The message to everyone will be - come along and enjoy yourself, celebrate Her Majesty’s 70th year as our Queen, catch up with people you know, meet new friends and get to know more about all the opportunities which our village has to offer.”

The next meeting to continue planning the event will be at the Clanfield Centre this Thursday, 7th April, at 7.15 pm. Representatives of all clubs and organisations based in Clanfield are welcome.
