CLANFIELD’S CAR PARKS CLOSED

Clanfield Parish Council has closed its car parks in the village in response to a heightened risk of unauthorised encampments. The car parks, including those at Peel Park and South Lane Meadow, were closed yesterday evening and will remain shut until further notice. The car park at Down Farm Park is also closed except when members of the Bowls Club are in attendance.

A Parish Council spokesperson said today:

“We are always very reluctant to take this step but, in the light of information which we received yesterday, it was felt that it was the right thing to do.

“We will keep the situation under constant review and we will re-open the car parks as soon as we can.”
