These feet are made for walking

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the legacy of the Commonwealth Games and how it has inspired me – and I hope some of you - to get out in our lovely Hampshire countryside and walk, jog or run.
Well, I just thought I would report back and tell you how I have been doing.
Walking is the exercise I love most. In fact I don’t think of it as ‘exercise’ as that sounds a bit painful to me. I just love walking – and walking fast. Once you get into your stride, head up and enjoying whatever the weather wants to throw at you, there is nothing better.
I must be doing something right as I walked up the steep, uneven path to Catherington today with barely a break in my stride. Usually, I am gasping my last halfway up but not this time. It felt so good that I couldn’t stop smiling.
The feel-good factor of pushing yourself just a bit harder each day is so rewarding.
So, my question to you is “How are you doing?”
Have you got off that sofa yet? Have you run out of excuses or have you been pulling on the walking boots or running shoes?
Many of those brilliant athletes, who were so brave and committed to their sport in Glasgow, have been in action again at the European Games in Zurich.
If they can do it then we, in our own small way, can do the same.
Are you walking, jogging and running? Please let me know how you are getting on.
