Curry Night at the Rising Sun

I was invited to join friends for a birthday celebration meal at the Rising Sun last Thursday night and we had such a good time that I felt I shouldn’t keep it to myself.
The staff greeted us warmly as we arrived and were helpful and attentive throughout the evening. The pub was already quite busy and more customers were arriving all the time, although it didn’t feel crowded or too noisy.
We opted for the Curry Night special menu and weren’t disappointed. There were plenty of choice and we enjoyed a delicious, aromatic and filling meal accompanied by beer or wine of our choice. A nice touch was the large jug of iced water on the table to cool us down.
Did I mention the pudding? Selections of simply gorgeous cakes were on offer from chocolate fudge through to lemon meringue but the prize must go to the Rising Sun Summer Pudding topped by a large portion of cream. This wasn’t just a dessert, but rather, a work of art. It was almost a shame to eat it!
Clanfield is fortunate to have such a friendly, welcoming pub serving good food and drink at such reasonable prices.
