Local Shops serving us in all Weather

The weather forecast is looking decidedly chilly towards the end of the week. The arctic winds from the north are set to sweep down to make any journeys an unwelcome challenge.
I was one of the lucky ones who arrived home before the roads became impassable in January 2010. The unfortunate ones were stuck in their cars on the A3 that night.
The next day all the local villages were busy with children sledging and shoppers stocking up on food. Everyone was helping by clearing roads and paths and checking on elderly neighbours. The only way to move around safely for a few days was to walk or sledge.
The local shopkeepers didn’t fail us by battling through the snow to open up their premises and serve the large number of customers who flooded in.
Our local shops and businesses are here to serve you all year round so make sure you use them regularly in return. Don’t wait until the snow falls to make a purchase or use their services. They are local people like yourselves, earning a living and making this area their home.
Local shops are a vital part of village and community life – so use them.
