The sunny weather lifted the spirits of the crowds that attended the Petersgate Summer Fayre on Sunday.

The Pals of Petersgate School had pulled out all the stops to ensure that everyone had a great day. There were rides, competitions and games to enjoy. Stallholders were selling a variety of interesting gifts while the BBQ, featuring beef burgers and sausages from Reeve Butchers, always had a long queue!

The Clanfield Online Team came too and handed out yellow balloons to the children and chatted to parents about the Community website. We found that many parents had followed us on Facebook and Twitter and seen our advertising of the event. For those who hadn’t yet found us they were keen to know more and promised to find the website. The online stats are already beginning to rise!

Our local Police and Fire Brigade were a popular attraction for many youngsters who enjoyed sitting inside their vehicles. We were entertained by the wealth of talent shown by the children who displayed their gymnastic and musical skills in the main arena and everyone enjoyed both the live music and a great disco.

The highlight of the day must go to the brave teachers who agreed to take part in the Soak the Teacher spot. What they didn’t know was that the Fire Brigade had offered to help out with their fire hoses! This was indeed going the extra mile in return for generous donations from the crowds.

Overall it was a great day for Petersgate School and a ‘thumbs up’ for Clanfield Online!
