The Clanfield Challenge, this Sunday 22 May from 09.30 onwards, is in the final stages of preparation.
The competitors have been working hard on their training runs and hope to have enough energy left for a final sprint to the finishing line. The organisers are running through their checklists to ensure the day unfolds without any problems and sponsors and stallholders are gearing up to put on a good show for the crowds that are sure to turn up to support the runners.
What we can’t control is the weather, but whatever the forecast it won’t stop us having a good time. 494 runners, joggers and walkers have signed up to take part, from tiny tots to the simply young at heart; dozens of local people have volunteered their time to help marshal the run; stallholders, many of who are members of Clanfield Online, are going to be in South Lane Meadow to offer refreshments, entertainment and information.
The day starts with the children’s 1K run at 10.00 at South Lane Meadow. The adults will set off at 10.45 from North Lane and finish in the Meadow where there will be food, drink, music and lots for everyone to see and do.
It is going to be a great day and we invite you to join us. This is your chance to show support for your community. Come along and enjoy the event, support local businesses and organisations and cheer on the runners who take part in the Clanfield Challenge 2016.More info »
