About Clanfield Online

Clanfield Online is a not-for-profit website funded by local businesses for the benefit of the community. Our aim is to promote and celebrate the work of community organisations and local businesses providing an online platform for news, events, information and comment.  Clanfield Online is managed by volunteers and any surplus funds are used for the benefit of the community in local projects.

The creation of a community website followed a local business meeting in 2013. Business owners wanted to bring our growing community together and encourage residents, both new and established, to shop locally and support community groups and projects. We were fortunate to find a local web designer, who generously gave of his time and skills, and in March 2014 Clanfield Online went live.

Since that time, we have grown a large and loyal audience for the website and on social media receiving thousands of visits and pages read and liked. In spring 2021 we recorded nearly 90 business and community members.

Clanfield Online objectives:

  • Improve links between our community and local businesses, encouraging "stay local, shop local"

  • Give a voice to small businesses so they can have the opportunity to compete with large organisations.

  • Provide a channel of communication for local not-for-profit groups, clubs and organisations who enrich village life through their unstinting efforts

  • Support local projects which bring the community together

  • Assist in sharing information provided by Hampshire County Council, East Hants District Council, Clanfield Parish Council and Hampshire Emergency Services.
