I went along today to enjoy a peaceful few moments plus a cup of tea a slice of cake – I needed some respite from the tension of the men’s road cycling race in Glasgow!
As promised I received a warm welcome from everyone I met. A lovely cup of tea, expertly poured by Trish, and a delicious slice of carrot cake cut with a flourish and a smile. The friendly folk of St James Church provide plenty of homemade cakes to choose from and they needed every slice for the many customers who stopped by for refreshment.
I sat in the sunshine at a table covered with a pretty cloth and flowers chatting to new acquaintances. Small children played happily and safely on the grass while the adults enjoyed the relaxed surroundings.
What more could you want on a lovely afternoon in August? Your only have a few Sundays left to enjoy this treat so don’t miss out - put ‘Sunday Tea at St James’ Church in your diary today!
