Clanfield Co-op swapping a sleigh for a trolley this Christmas

Clanfield Co-op Store is going all out to help struggling local families to celebrate Christmas this year. The Co-op team is running a Reverse Advent Calendar scheme where customers can donate food items for every day of the festive season. For more info visit: Facebook Clanfield Co-op

And the Clanfield staff are donating a trolley load of food - read their report here:

Local co-operative colleagues are swapping the sleigh for a trolley this Christmas with a pile of goodies being donated to the Horndean and Clanfield Food Bank. A trolley full of goods from the Clanfield Co-op Store will be split between 50 families for Christmas hampers.

Food bank co-ordinator Helen Rogers said:  "We are quite a small food bank but people are amazingly generous and just want to help. Anyone living in Horndean or Clanfield and is in genuine need, can request a foodbank parcel by ringing 07914 504715.

Danny Stallard, who works at The Co-operative Food - Clanfield, said: "We are donating a trolley of goods as we saw a post on Facebook and thought why not, it's the least we can do.

"The store manager, Mark, and all of us in the team are proud that we will be making other people's Christmases that bit better when so many family are struggling this time of year. As a store we are proud to do what we can for our local community."

Hampers will be delivered closer to Christmas Day whilst the Reverse Advent Calendar appeal carries on – give generously this Christmas!

The generosity doesn’t stop after there as the store has a regular food bank collection point throughout the year. And Clanfield Co-op have come up with lots of games, lucky dips and tombola to raise money for Clanfield Junior School. Well done to the Clanfield Team!

Clanfield Online applauds the Southern Co-operative, a big organisation with a real interest in the local community.
