The Easter holidays start early this year at Butser Ancient Farm.
The farm is open 7 days a week from Saturday 28 March 2015 so why not plan your day out with the family and enjoy an informative and fascinating visit to this nationally important archaeological site located in the stunning Hampshire countryside.
Saturday 28 March 2015 also sees the first of the Young Archaeologist Club meetings. This popular club is suitable for ages 8 to 17 and you will be able to learn new skills and investigate how our ancestors lived and worked in the South Downs. Contact us for more information 02392 598 838.
The club meets between 14.00 - 16.00 and cost £3.00 per session.
Don’t forget that our #buildbutser competition is still running. Can you build Butser either from Lego or on Minecraft? You can? Then send us your photos and you could win a family pass for 2015.
Throughout the Easter holidays there will be hands-on family activities to enjoy plus the excitement of new born lambs on our working farm. Did you know that the breed we have at Butser Ancient Farm is Manx Laughton? These sheep descend from a primitive breed which can have 4 horns! The lambs are born black but change to a white/gray as they grow up.
