Clanfield Cricket Club - Winter report

Clanfield had a disappointing start to their indoor league season with a heavy defeat against Gosport B on Sunday 17 October. This was always going to be a tough first game against one of the best teams in the division and the lack of experience of the indoor game was costly.

Batting first, Gosport made an imposing 157 from their 12 overs with Greg Kitchin scoring 82 not out. Fellow opener Charlie Pennicott made 27 but nobody else got into double figures so if Clanfield had managed to take one of these, the outcome may have been different.

Clanfield made a bad start as Alex Andrews was caught off the first ball of the innings and lost wickets regularly, eventually being all out for 82 in the last over.

This was a hard first game but the team enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the next match in 2 weeks time.
