Cowplain Bowling Club Autumn Report

The Club has had a very successful summer season. Many new and enthusiastic bowlers have joined the Club during the year.

The Maintenance Team worked hard in preparing the all-weather surface for Cowplain’s first winter season and our members have all been arming  themselves with suitable warm clothing and hand warmers in readiness for the various winter activities.

Cowplain bowlers have been winners and runners-up in local competitions and awarded trophies from the Portsmouth and District Bowls Association.

Bowlers from the Club were also successful in reaching the finals of several Hampshire County competitions resulting in yet more trophies.

Our hopes have been fulfilled. However there is one more accolade still to be won this year.

The Club entered the Bowls England Club of the Year competition and to our delight were chosen as the regional winner for the south, joining three other regional finalists. We have the chance to become the Bowls England National Club of the Year, which would be the wonderful acknowledgement of our aim the create a club for all - young and old, able bodied and disabled, social and competitive.
