Clanfield continues scoring success

Clanfield Cricket Club gained their third win of the season against Bedhampton to move into second place in Division 4 of the South East Hampshire Indoor Cricket League.

Batting first, Bedhampton were restricted early on by tidy Clanfield bowling and only made 61 from the first 7 overs. Some lively hitting increased the scoring rate but also cost wickets and they were all out for 131 from the last ball of their twelve overs. This was the first time Clanfield had taken all six opposition wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Mark Turnbull with 2 for 25.

Clanfield made a blistering start to their innings, scoring 23 from the first over. Haider Khan quickly retired having hit 4 sixes and was quickly followed by fellow opener Oscar Windebank. Mark Turnbull and Alex Andrews continued to score quickly and, although they were both out, Clanfield reached 132 for 2 from only 10.2 overs when Toby Wherle hit the only ball he faced for six.

A fine team performance which shows the team are now finding their feet in the indoor league.

Next match - 10 January vs Sarisbury Athletic.
