Clanfield Cricket Club Summer Reports
Clanfield returned to winning ways on Sunday with a record breaking display on the artificial wicket at Swanmore.
After a couple of defeats, the team racked up a new record score of 282 all out. The highlight of the innings was a first ever century for Haider Khan. After several scores in the 80s and 90s over recent seasons, Haider finally reached 115 from only 99 balls including 4 sixes. Other notable contributions came from Toby Wehrle (40) and Matt Bradley (48).
When Swanmore batted, they also scored freely but struggled against such a big score. The total looked in danger while Giles Whitefield (75 from 56 balls) was in, but crucial wickets from Matt (3 for 26) and Toby (3 for 24) meant that Swanmore finished their overs on 223 for 9.
A fantastic afternoon of cricket with over 500 runs scored and a good win.
