Specialist Oncology Massage

My name is John Hughes and I am the owner of AdvanceSRM, a clinic that specialises in clinical soft tissue & remedial massage therapy. I am qualified to treat clients with chronic and acute pain, musculoskeletal disorders/injuries, postural abnormalities, as well as pre and postnatal pain/trauma. Recently, I successfully completed specialis training to be able to offer massage for those undergoing or following treatment for cancer.

According to Cancer Research UK, cancer remains the single highest cause of death in the UK and current estimates suggest that 1 in 2 of us will develop some form of the disease in our lifetime.  However, cancer survival has doubled in the last 40 years meaning that more people are living with and surviving cancer than ever before. Research demonstrates that specialist clinical massage has beneficial outcomes for patients resulting in a huge impact on wellbeing, a reduction in the effects of post-operative scarring, mobility and discomfort.

I work sensitively and intuitively with clients, using my specialist training, to offer a service that endeavours to improve the lives of those that are receiving treatment for or have overcome this devastating disease by:

  • treating post-operative scarring
  • improving mobility of muscles affected by scar tissue and adhesions
  • reducing post-operative and post cancer treatment pain or discomfort.
  • manage their condition to promote increased well-being

With more than 350,000 people being diagnosed across the UK this year alone, it is very likely that you know of someone who is suffering from cancer.  Whilst they and their loved ones are striving to overcome or recover from this disease, they may not be aware of this additional treatment that will help improve their wellbeing.  Please share this newsletter with family, friends and colleagues because this might just make a difference to the quality of their lives and introduce them to the benefits of clinical massage.
